If its a manual transmission car, the clutch might eventually need to be replaced, but only if it starts slipping. Don't replace the gear oil unless it becomes difficult to shift. If its an automatic, the fluid can be drained and replaced with Toyota transmission fluid as a preventative measure, or if the fluid has become dark.
Need a 4 second car that seats 7 comfortably, handles like a Porsche, can tow a camper, goes off road, good MPG, and is reliable and cheap to run r/whatcarshouldIbuy • Do Honda and Toyota really have a reliability advantage?
The Yaris is the reliability choice, (as per delivery driver comment below), and is somewhat easier to drive than a Polo because of it's lighter and even more uninformative steering. The models up to 2011 look quite cheap on the interior, but anything newer than 2012 isn't dreadful. The Polo is the better choice if you want a "nice" car to own
The Yaris is a fine vehicle; nimble, fun to drive (but not fast), very fuel efficient, extremely reliable. But it can be miserable on road trips due to its cheap interior and lack of creature comforts. The Corolla is hardly a luxury car but its a definite step up from the Yaris in this regard - and if you can get a "step up" without stepping up

Mazda reliability as of late has been good - so it shouldn't be a problem. Just the 2 cars are completely unrelated.
If you test drive it and like the way it handles and the lowish hp is fine, its a great value! Loaded with safety tech, Bluetooth, 7 in screen, alloy wheels, damn good suspension and almost hybrid like gas mileage I would say so. Nothing really better brand new. Not to mention if it is new, you get 2 years free maintenance from toyota. This
If you have city in any comparison, just don't, city is the best. I second that. City is the most refined car of the segment. Not going to lie, the Yaris though I personally liked the drivability, is a little less wide and less premium than the city. There's something missing in that car, the city however, now that's just a beauty of a car.
